AMHERST - The Amherst Skating Club had a strong showing last weekend as 10 of their skaters returned home with a total of 16 medals after competing at the Bridgewater Open.
The girls have been working hard this year and their efforts paid off with seven gold medals, seven silver medals and two bronze medals.
Isabelle Adams brought home a silver medal in the introductory women free skate.
Maile Champagne brought home a silver medal in the pre-preliminary free skate, and silver in the pre-preliminary skills.
Hannah Doucette brought home a gold medal in the pre-preliminary skills and placed seventh in the pre-preliminary women free skate.
Chelsey Gould brought home a gold medal in the pre-preliminary free skate, a gold medal in preliminary skills and placed fourth in the pre-introductory interpretive.
Jaycee Hawkes brought home the gold medal in the peewee A free skate.
Kennedy MacDonald placed eleventh in pre-preliminary women free skate.
Jennifer Porter brought home a silver medal in the senior bronze skills, a bronze medal in the bronze interpretive and placed sixth in the junior bronze women B.
Haley Speight brought home a gold medal in the senior bronze skills, a gold medal in the bronze interpretive, and placed eighth in the junior bronze women B.
Jadyn Soehner brought home a silver medal in the preliminary skills, silver in the pre-introductory interpretive, and she also brought home a bronze medal in the peewee B free skate.
Jessica White brought home a gold medal in the junior bronze skills, silver in the bronze interpretive, and placed ninth in the junior bronze women B.
Overall a great time was had by all the girls, coaches and parents.
The Amherst Skating Club is looking forward to its next big event, the Skate Dartmouth competition, with takes place Feb. 6-7.
