AMHERST - The?Amherst Regional High School Vikings will host seven other teams this weekend in the ARHS Cumberland?Honda-Pizza Delight Christmas Classic.
The Vikings will host the North Colchester High Mustangs from?Tatamagouche, the Avonview Avalanche from Windsor and the Antigonish Royals in Pool A while the always strong?Tantramar?Titans, Three Oaks Axemen, Charlottetown?Rural Raiders and the?Pugwash Panthers will play in Group B.
Action begins on Saturday at 10 a.m. when Tantramar plays Pugwash while Charlottetown Rural and North Colchester meet at noon.
Amherst, coming off a 2-2 finish at the Summerside Christmas Classic over the weekend, open at 2 p.m. against Antigonish while Three Oaks and Avonview play the tourney's final round robin game at 4 p.m.
Playoff games begin later Saturday at the high school and E.B. Chandler with games at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. with action in the winners' bracket at ARHS and play at Chandler in the losers' bracket.
The seventh-place game goes at noon Sunday at Chandler while the fifth-place game is at the same time at ARHS.
The bronze medal game is at 2 p.m. and the gold medal game goes at 4 p.m. at the high school.
Last year, the Vikings defeated Charlottetown Rural in the championship game.
