WILMOT, N.S. - Police say a sock found on the bank of a Nova Scotia river belongs to a 19-year-old woman who has been missing since a car she was travelling in plunged into a river.
In a release today, police said the article was worn by Elizabeth Morrissette at the time of the car crash in Wilmot, N.S., on Dec. 7.
Police say the sock was spotted near the crash site, but that no other items were found.
Forty people turned out Saturday as the search continued for the Annapolis County woman, but high water levels were slowing the efforts.
Morrissette was a passenger in a vehicle that crashed through a guardrail and into a fast-moving stream that joins the Annapolis River a few hundred metres away.
