Pruning workshop set for River John Oct. 17

RIVER JOHN - Tracey MacKenzie of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College will be
hosting a pruning workshop in River John on Oct. 17.
Anyone interested in learning pruning techniques is welcome at the Remembrance Gardens in River John from 1 to 4 p.m. The workshop has been organized by the non-profit group Butterflies and Blooms and an admission of $2 will be charged.
The group is also working with the Willow Lodge Home For Special Care in Tatamagouche to organize a horticultural therapy program for residents, and are calling it a Garden Frolic. The next activity will be topping up raised flowerbeds in the Remembrance Gardens with soil and replanting flowers.
Any age or ability with an hour of time to give is welcome to join the group in its frolic around the garden.
