Santanna Blue Chip, phillies perform well for Jamiesons

Campbellville, Ont. - The Carl Jamieson Stable enjoyed a big weekend in harness racings fast lane.

At Mohawk Raceway in Campbellville, Ont., Jody Jamieson drove Santanna?Blue Chip to a 1:53.2 victory in a $132,000 division of the Simpco Stakes for three-year-old pacing colts  . Jody and father Carl, a native of Wallace, co-own the pacer with Jeff Gillis of Port Hood and ?George Arthur of Ontario.

Santanna Blue Chip, who has won more than $1-million in his first two seasons of racing, will make his next start in the Little Brown Jug next Thursday.

Last Friday night at Mohawk, the Jamiesons Jody and Carl teamed to win the two divisions of the Champlain Stakes for 2-year-old filly pacers with Break The News and Shes A Fan. Carl trains each of the fillies as well as holding an ownership position.

So far this year, the Jamieson Stable has harnessed the winners of $1.759-million.

Jamieson, a native of Bible Hill, leads Canadian drivers with $5.243-million in money earnings this year.

The other Simcoe Stake division last Saturday was won by pacing phenom Somebeachsomewhere in 1:50.1 as he scored his 15th win from 16 career starts. Owned by Schooner Stables of Bible Hill, the colt came out with a throat infection, but trainer Brent MacGrath says hell be ready for his next start on?Sept. 26.
