SAINT JOHN, N.B. - Gold Cup and Saucer winner Pownal Bay Matt is among the eight starters in Saturday's $8,000 ANE Invitational race at Exhibition Park Raceway in Saint John.
Among his rivals will be Country Estate, a four-year-old pacer owned by Wentworth native Wes Patriquin, who won Gold Cup and Saucer Trial 2 at Charlottetown in 1:52.4, the fastest mile of the 2008 Maritime season and St. Pete Star, a Gold Cup and Saucer finalist from the Pugwash stable of Paul Gray.
The program will also feature The Maritimer for three-year-old fillies and divisions of the Atlantic Sires Stakes for three-year-old colts.
