Youth fishing derby goes May 23

AMHERST - The Town of Amherst and Amherst Canadian Tire are gearing up for the annual Youth Fish Derby to be held Friday ,May 23, 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Pumping Station Lake in Brookdale.
This event is open to youth 15 years and under.
Community and Economic Development recommends that participants 10 years and under be accompanied by an adult.
Prizes will be awarded for the longest trout caught in the following categories; eight years and under, 12 yearsand under and 15 years and under.
The Amherst Skating Club will offer on site canteen services.
Prizes for this event have been provided by Canadian Tire.
Trout for the derby have been provided by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.
