BRIDGEWATER, N.S. - Nova Scotia is kicking in $10 million for the building of a new recreation complex in Lunenburg County.
Premier Rodney MacDonald announced the help Tuesday for the $31.5-million complex in Bridgewater.
The money marks the province's single biggest investment in recreation in Nova Scotia since the Metro Centre was built in Halifax and Centre 200 in Sydney.
The province's contribution means more than $20 million has been raised for the project.
The society in charge of the project plans to approach Ottawa for the remainder of the money needed.
Plans for the facility include two ice rinks, a pool, library and community space.

Thanks for kicking in a few bucks for the Amherst rink when it was being renovated Rodney thanks for nothing but then again we come to expect nothing less. I'll bet if we were in the HRM he would have kicked in a few bucks.

Wow got a partial answer just from reading the rest of the ADN. One of the Articles above quotes Premier MacDonald saying:
Last week I was in Joggins for the interpretive centre opening and weve invested in the Amherst Stadium and other projects.

Did the Amherst rink receive any funding from the NS gov't? Did those involved ask the NS gov't for money?
