ARHS knocked out of the house

TRURO - The Amherst Regional High School Curling Team surprised many doubters after they won the Regionals, thereby qualifying for the High School Provincials.

But it wasnt to be their year.

Yesterday, the first day of the provincial tournament, they lost both games they played and were therefore eliminated from the tournament.

The team of Greg Curtis, Turner Wolfe, Nick Smith and Nick Ripley lost their first game to Lockview and their second game to Forrest Heights.

Citadel Hill and Auburn Drive were the big winners of the day after advancing directly to Saturdays semi-final draw after they both won two games each.

Teams advancing to tomorrow match-ups after winning one and losing one are Forrest Heights, Lockview, Baddeck, Sackville and the host Cobequid Educational Centre.

Each member of the Amherst Regional High School Team has four years of curling experience under their belt but they played together as a team for only the last month.

Curtis and Wolfe are in Grade 11 and Smith and Ripley are in Grade 10.
