SPRINGHILL - Travis Davis scored 53 seconds into overtime lifting the Cumberland County Cool Blues to a 5-4 win over the Windsor Royals in Nova Scotia Junior B Hockey League action Friday.
The win is the second of the season for the Blues.
Davis took a pass from veteran forward Andrew Brennan and wired a shot past Windsor goalie Matt Pongoski to lift his club to the win. Cody Roach drew the other assist, his second of the night.
Seth Crowe with his third goal of the season, R.J Sears, Cody Firth and Ryan Smith also tallied for the Blues.
Sam Webb with a pair and Dylan Shearer and Mark Blanchard with solo efforts replied for Windsor. Pat O'Brien stopped 11 of the 15 shots he faced for Cumberland while Pongoski stoppd 30 of the 35 shots he faced.
The teams were tied 1-1 after one when Smith and Blanchard trading goals.'
The game was knotted 3-3 after two periods, as Firth and Sears scored for Cumberland and Webb and Shearer replied for the Royals.
Crowe made it 4-3 for the Blues at 3:05 of the final period. Webb scored the equalizer at 7:03 to send the game to overtime.
The Blues return to action Sunday evening when the host Kensington, P.E.I. in a 7:30 p.m. exhibition contest at the Dr. Carson and Marion Murray Community Centre.
