Penguins move to 2-0 with win over Madawaska

SPRINGHILL - Trevor MacKenzie continued his torrid scoring pace scoring four times to pace the East Hants Penguins to a 12-4 win over Madawaska 506 in action Thursday at the Don Johnson Cup in Springhill.

The win sets the stage for a 12:30 p.m. matchup today against the unbeaten Kensington Vipers, who sit at 2-0. The Vipers also play the host Cumberland County Cool Blues at 8 p.m. in the find round robin game of the tourney.

MacKenzie, who also added two assists for the Penguins, scored four times in the opening game Tuesday and added two more on Wednesday against Newfoundland.

Patrick Sweeney continued to be MacKenzies setup man picking up four assists to go along with a single goal while Andy Chase and Scott Sack each had a goal and two assists.

Jamie Klie and Alex Vidoni each had a goal and an assist for the Penguins while Randy LeBlanc and Corey Cole each scored once. Ryan Penney, Alex Burton and Kyle Ross each had two assists.
