The Advocate District High Coyotes outscored the Parrsboro Regional High Warriors 28-13 down the stretch to win the NSSAF Cumberland district banner with a 76-71 win.

PARRSBORO The Advocate District High Coyotes outscored the Parrsboro Regional High Warriors 28-13 down the stretch to win the NSSAF Cumberland district banner with a 76-71 win.

Kyle Morris scored 33 points for Advocate, who now hosts the Northumberland regional tourney, while Millard Ells had 19 points, Matt Stewart scored 14, Jordan Melanson had five, Jeremy Fraser had three and Chris Nuttall scored two.

Corey Hunter led Parrsboro, who will also advance, with 24 points with Travis Dowe scoring 17, Alex Mathews adding 13, Mike Strong 11 and Nick Harvey, Dennis Joyce and Adam MacKay with two each.

In earlier action, Advocate defeated River Hebert 84-36 with Morris scoring 30, Stewart scoring 19, Fraser adding 18, Ells scoring eight, Nuttall scoring five and Melanson two.

Kyle Vansnick had 18 for River Hebert with Evan Cormier scoring 10, Craig Scopie adding four and Brad Cormier and Blaine McIver adding two each.

Parrsboro opened with a 78-36 win over River Hebert.

Hunter scored 25 for Parrsboro with Strong scoring 13, Dowe adding 10, John Williams, Mathews and Harvey each had eight and MacKay had six.

VanSnick had 24 for River Hebert with Evan Cormier scoring seven, Paul Mawdsley and Scopie each scoring two and McIver adding one.
