Dyson Stevenson will continue his hockey career with the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League next season.
The Shaunavon native recently graduated from a four-year Western Hockey League career with the Regina Pats, where he registered 168 points and 420 penalty minutes in 252 games.
He broke out during his overage season in 2013-14 with 38 goals, 38 assists, 121 penalty minutes, and a +23 rating in 68 games.
The gritty forward was named the Pats' Most Valuable Player, won the team's Community Service Award, and was voted the Most Popular Player by the fans as well.
He signed a one-year contract with the Pirates, who are the AHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Phoenix Coyotes.
