The Kyle Elks won the battle of unbeaten teams Friday with a 3-2 win over the visiting Rosetown Redwings.
Blake Evans scored twice and Danny Williams added a single in the victory over their archrivals. Jamie Langen made 29 saves on 31 shots in the win. Jeff Marshall and Byron Sorensen added assists.
Saturday, the Elks had a much easier time in a 9-3 win over the host Central Butte Flyers. Justin Williams registered four assists and Dieter Gillanders posted two goals and an assist. Robbie Retzleff and Danny Williams each had a goal and two helpers, while Austin Noble, Nelson Schneider, and Sorensen all had a goal and an assist.
Steve Moreside and Thomas Williams also scored. Marshall picked up two assists, while Mitch Day and Leif Gustavson both added singles.
Langen made 18 saves in the win as the Elks outshot the hosts 33-21.
The Elks now sit alone atop the Sask Valley Hockey League with a 16-0-0-0 record.
The Elks will play two league games this weekend. They will host the Kenaston Blizzard (3-10-0-0) on Friday at 8 p.m. and then visit the Dinsmore/Lucky Lake Dynamoes (10-3-0-1).
