Elks edge Bombers

The Kyle Elks played one of their closest games of the season on Friday when they edged the visiting Beechy Bombers 5-4 to remain unbeaten in the Sask Valley Hockey League.

Blake Evans led the Elks with a goal and three assists. Danny Williams added two goals and one assist and Casey Rempel had two helpers. Cory Hodgins and Jeff Marshall also scored. Dieter Gillanders, Joel Rogers, and Justin Williams all added assists. Jesse Book made 27 saves on 31 shots in the win.

Tyler Flynn helped keep the Bombers in the game with 41 saves on 46 shots. Justin Dubasov, Matthew Hanke, Adam Lawson, and Jonathan Redlick replied for Beechy.

Kyle improved to 11-0-0-0 in the win, while Beechy dropped to 3-7-0-1. The Elks will conclude 2013 with a road game agains the Eston (9-2-0-0) Ramblers on Saturday.
