Freezing rain warning cancels pair of MHL games

Western Capitals announce make-up dates for pair of snowed-out games

The Truro Bearcats, Amherst Ramblers, Dieppe Commandos and Miramichi Timberwolves all had their games postponed Saturday due to weather warnings. No make-up dates have been announced. The Ramblers first game of 2014 will take place Saturday, January 4 at Amherst Stadium against the visiting Valley Wildcats. Puck drops at 7:00 pm.

AMHERST-Two Saturday MHL games were postponed as a result of the forecast of freezing rain: The Truro Bearcats at Amherst Ramblers and the Dieppe Commandos at the Miramichi Timberwolves. No make-up have yet to be announced. The Ramblers defeated the Lumberjacks 6-4 last night.

In related news, the Maritime Hockey League website (http://themhl.ca/) posted the following on their website on Saturday:

"The Summerside Western Capitals have announced 2 (home) schedule change updates. The November 23rd game against the Dieppe Commandos has been rescheduled to January 4th at 4:00pm at EastLink Arena in Credit Union Place. The December 15th game against the CIBC Wood Gundy Lumberjacks has been rescheduled to February 23rd at 2:00pm."

No make-up date for the postponed Ramblers/Capitals game this past Wednesday, December 18 in Summerside has yet to be announced.

In addition to December 21's postponed game against the Truro Bearcats, the Ramblers also need to make-up last Sunday, December 15's postponed home game against the Yarmouth Mariners.   

The Ramblers' first scheduled game of 2014 is Saturday, January 4 at 7:00 pm versus the visiting Valley Wildcats.
