Raiders double up Hounds in first league win

The Swift Current Kabos Raiders finally picked up their first league win of the season Wednesday in a 4-2 victory over the Notre Dame Hounds.

The Raiders won for the first time in 15 Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League games despite missing two of their top forwards, Tyde Hutchinson and Caleb Stevenson, due to injury.

Cayden Price scored twice and added an assist to lead the Raiders to victory. Price is now second in team scoring with 12 points in 15 games after scoring his second and third goals of the season.

Dayne Stenson scored the game winning goal midway through the third period after Notre Dame had tied the game 2-2 only 4:08 earlier. Tanner Kendall also scored after being called up for the game.

Jackson Tonnies, Mason Peterson, and Jesse Wellsch all picked up assists in the win.

Kyle Shapka and Thomas Dechant replied for the Hounds, who dropped to 0-15-0 in the loss.

The Raiders improved their record to 1-13-1 in the win. They will be off from league play until December 18 when they host the Regina Pat Blues at 8:15 p.m. at Fairview West Arena.
