Legionnaires allow first six goals to last-place Hounds

The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires lost their second straight game in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League Wednesday.

The Legionnaires were in Wilcox where they allowed the first six goals in a 6-2 loss to the last-place Notre Dame Hounds.

The Legionnaires eventually got third-period goals from Connor Odelein and Tristan Hermanson to close the scoring. Chaseton Sare, Keenan Lugt, Kolby Johnson, and Brody Doepker picked up assists in the loss.

Shane Blomquist took the loss with 26 saves on 32 shots as the Hounds outshot the Legionnaires 32-24. Egor Popov led the Hounds with two goals and two assists and Clarke Flegel earned the win with 22 saves.

The Legionnaires remain ninth in the SMAAAHL with a 6-14-2-0 record, while the Hounds improved to 2-13-1-0.

The Legionnaires will be off this weekend before returning to Wilcox to face the Hounds on Tuesday.
