The ARHS Vikings took to the ice for their home game Friday night against the Tantramar Titans.
AMHERST – The Amherst Regional High School Vikings hosted their home game Friday night against the Tantramar Titans at the Amherst Stadium.
The Vikings kicked off the game with an early lead, taking in three goals in the first period, leading the way with a 3-0 score. Alex VanSnick scored the first goal of the night assisted by Mitchell Speight and Andrew Skinner at the 2 minutes and 33 second mark. The Vikings second goal, scored by Matthew Beal, assisted by Andrew Skinner, was scored at 4:54. Ryan Ackles, assisted by Joel St. Peters with just over four minutes left in the first period, scored the team’s third goal.
Heading into the second period, the Vikings brought in their fourth goal of the night, scored by Mackenzie Colford, assisted by Joel St. Peters at the 3:31 mark. The Titans brought in their first goal of the night with just over six minutes remaining in the second period, scored by Riley Morice-Chase, assisted by Brandon Steeves.
The Vikings started the third period strong, taking in their fifth goal of the game, just over four minutes into the period, scored by Stephen Belyea, assisted by Kirk Hamilton and Peter Kane.
The Titans fought back, bringing in their second goal of the night, scored by Riley Morice-Chase, soon after. The Vikings took in their next goal 13 seconds later, scored by Andrew Skinner. The Titans took in another goal, just over the six-minute mark, scored by Brooke Beal, bringing the score to 6-3 in favour of the Vikings.
The home team took in their final goal of the night, just past the nine minute mark, scored by Stephen Belyea, assisted by Mitchell Speight, followed by the Titans’ final goal, scored by Paxton Clare, assisted by Brandon Steeves and Briley Wheaton, bringing the final score to 7-4 for the Vikings.
The next Vikings home game is Nov. 30 against Harrison Trimble at the Amherst Stadium at 7 p.m.
