SPRINGHILL – A rough night for the Cumberland County Blues Friday in front of a hometown crowd, with a loss to the Antigonish Bulldogs, 6-4. The Bulldogs had nine power plays for the Blues one. Some members of the crowd vocally vented their frustration with what they perceived as poor officiating.

Dave Hyatt, coach for the Blues, was clearly disappointed in the penalties his team received relative to the other team, but kept his single comment diplomatic: “I don’t agree with that…”

No goals for the Blues in the first period. But the boys dominated the second, with goals scored by Mike McClure, Jordie Shaw and Marcel Amirault. The score going into the third was 4-3.

The next two goals were the Bulldogs. It wasn’t until the last five minutes of the game that the Blues posted another, compliments of Zach Carson.
