AMHERST – The last time the Weeks Crushers visited Amherst, they left bruised by a 6-3 defeat. It was a different story tonight. Despite an early two-goal lead for the Ramblers, a weak second period left the hometown team open and the Crushers took advantage. A late rally in the final minutes of the game weren’t enough to turn the tide. A loss for the Ramblers, 4-2.

The Ramblers owned the first period. Just two pucks saw nets, both for Amherst: Jordan Escott at 14:43 and Brandon MacLean at 15:14.

The second period was all Crushers, with goals at 3:38, 4:24 and 17:09. Corey Bennett scored an empty net at 19:59 in the third.

The Ramblers faced a solid goaltending effort from Weeks Crushers. This happens sometimes. The score was 2-0 for the Ramblers and before I returned to my seat it was all tied up 2-2. The young Ramblers had a let down at the start of the second period however dominated for the remainder of the game(my opinion only). Should be entertaining hockey on Thursday night when they host the 5th place Bearcats, then Saturday they host the Yarmouth Mariners (after the Ramblers return from a Friday nights venture to Miramichi). Let's pack the JUNGLE on both Thursday and Saturday nights and support this fine young team. "GO RAMBLERS GO"
