PORT HAWKESBURY – The Cumberland County Blues fought hard in Port Hawkesbury tonight, but it wasn’t enough to beat the Strait Pirates. Final tally? 4-3.
“We lost it in the first 10 minutes,” said Coach Hyatt. The Pirates had two goals at that point, a hole the boys couldn’t battle back from.
Zach Carson scored first for the Blues at 17:37 in the second. A couple minutes later, 19:43, it was Liam Carr with the team’s second goal. Then, in the third period, after the Pirates pulled ahead to four on the scoreboard, Cody Taker narrowed the gap by one – too late, at 19:11, to give a real hope of getting number four.
