Blues lose to Miners in OT

SPRINGHILL – Colin MacKinnon of the Glace Bay Miners scored the game-winning goal with 57 seconds left in overtime to beat the Cumberland County Blues in a 6-5 victory.

The Blues came back from a two-goal deficit in the third period but couldn’t pull the victory out in the end.

“I thought we played well defensively in the first period, but it got away from us after that,” said coach Dave Hyatt.

“We’ll take some positives out of it. We were down two in the third period and still managed to make a run of it, so there’s something to be said about that.”

Goals for the Blues were scored by Josh Coleman, Cody Taker, Geoff Burke, Cole Wood and Tyler Gould.
