AJAX, Ont. - A group of seven-year-old boys who narrowly escaped tragedy after an arena roof partially collapsed after a game in the United States is already back playing hockey.
The Ajax Knights Tyke White team were playing in a tournament at the Rostraver Ice Garden, about 50 kilometres southeast of Pittsburgh on Sunday afternoon.
They were taking off their equipment in the dressing room when the roof began to cave in and while no one was hurt, their coach says the kids were traumatized.
Still, Gary MacLean says that hasn't stopped several of them from gathering at his house today and playing hockey on his backyard rink.
MacLean says a game scheduled for tonight has been cancelled, and team staff will have to discuss when the boys are ready to play in an arena again.
He says now they're worried that any roof with snow on it could collapse on them.
