Ramblers upend Abbies
AMHERST It was a big night for Amherst Rambler fans as they sent the Meek Division Abbies back on the bus to Charlottetown with a 4-1 loss this weekend.
The Abbies took the lead in the first with Mike Ford going on the board with a pass from Nathan Snowie but halfway through the second things really opened up when Doug Doyle was given a rare penalty shot opportunity. With the crowd on their edge of their seats Snowie went hard right and fired past goaltender Hubert Morin, putting the Ramblers on the board, 1-1.
In the third the Ramblers were full steam ahead with Derek Smith taking an assist from Adam Chipman ad Jordan Escott in just mere seconds of the start. On the power play, Brent Lynth moved the Ramblers up the board with a pass from Escott and Andrew Oakley sealed the nights victory for the Bent Division team pushing an assist from Matthew Squires and Escott deep into the net.
Shots on goal for the night were 42 Ramblers, 29 Abbies.
The Ramblers next play the Pictou Crushers this coming Tuesday, here in Amherst. Game time is 7:30.
