Phantoms double Storm 4-2
SPRINGHILL - The Fundy Phantoms picked a good time to win their first game of the season.
Just days after relieving their coach of his duties, the Phantoms scored three shorthanded goals en route to their first win of the season, 4-2 over the North Shore Storm in Nova Scotia Junior C Hockey League action at the Richard Calder Arena in Springhill.
"It's great to get the first win, especially with what everyone's been through," team president Jeannie Morris said.
"The boys played really hard and deserved to win."
The Phantoms let coach Paul Atkinson go late last week, but Morris said she could not comment on the reasons behind the move.
Following Atkinson's ouster several other members of the coaching staff, executive and some of the players also left the team.
