AMHERST (Staff) - The Amherst Ramblers have acquired Shane Robar from the Moncton Beavers in exchange for a second round draft pick and future considerations.

Robar, a product of the Dartmouth Subways Midget Major AAA program, was the first-round pick of the Beavers in this year's entry draft.

The 17-year-old is described as a big, bruising defenseman that will be one more piece of the team's successes down the road.

"Coming out of the Dartmouth program, we know he was well coached. He is arriving in town today (Sunday, Sept. 23) and will run with us on Monday and hopefully be in the lineup on Tuesday against Truro,' coach and general manager Corey Crocker said.

The Ramblers gave up one of the two second round picks they have in the 2008 draft to obtain Robar, who became available when he couldnot get his school courses settled.
