Lacher 29th at MJT stop in Vernon

Swift Current’s Jessy-Lee Lacher was the lone Southwest golfer at the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s  Okanagan Junior Championship at Predator Ridge Golf Resort in Vernon, British Columbia.

Lacher, golfing out of the Elmwood Golf & Country Club, finished in 29th place in the Boys 14-16 Division with a two-round score of 180. Lacher, 16, posted rounds of 89 and 91 to finish 39 shots back of the leaders.

Surrey, BC’s Marcus Brown and Burnaby’s Lucas Gatto tied for the lead with one-under totals of 141 as the field battled temperatures hovering around 36 degrees Celsius on both days. Brown, golfing out of Hazelmere Golf Club, emerged with the victory in a fifth playoff hole to claim the Boys 14-16 title.

Next up on the MJT Saskatchewan Series is an event at Elk Ridge Resort in Waskesiu Lake on August 27-28.
