Eston’s Jehremy Ryde opened the final round at the SGI Canada Saskatchewan Junior Men’s Championship four-under-par through the first five holes but was unable to overtake Saskatoon’s Jerry Christiansen for top spot.
Christiansen finished three-under-par for the day and 11-under-par for the week to wrap up the provincial title at the Chinook Golf Course in Swift Current. He entered the day with a four-shot lead after threatening the course record on Thursday with a seven-under-par 64.
Ryde, who works at the Elmwood Pro Shop in Swift Current, finished one shot back on Friday to place second at six-under-par.
Shaunavon’s Corey Bailey shot a seven-over 85 to place 33rd at 38-over-par.
Swift Current’s Jessy-Lee Lacher placed 37th with a 92 on day four to finish 57-over-par.
On the girl’s side, Saskatoon’s Thea Hedemann shot a four-over 75 on day four for a 32-stroke win with a 13-over-par total.
Swift Current’s lone female competitor was Erykah Pool, who placed seventh. She came up with a 113 in her final round, her second best score of the four-day event.
