SCCHS Colts & Ardens
Nine Southwest golfers took part in the SHSAA grass green provincial championships in Weyburn over the weekend.
The Swift Current Comp. High School was represented by four males and two females and placed eighth in the team competition with a score of 692. The host Weyburn team used their home course to win the team title with a 620 score, 38 less than Regina LeBoldus.
Individually Swift Current’s Cody Schapansky was the top Southwest finisher in 22nd place with a two-round total of 166 (86-80).
Marc Henderson, out of Weyburn, placed first in 148 strokes, one stroke ahead of Harris Cameron out of Stobart–Duck Lake.
Swift Current’s Kyle Miller tied for 39th (86-87=173), Jessy Lee Lacher of Swift Current tied for 52nd (94-85=179), Swift Current’s Ian Hayes tied for 55th (94-87=181), while Leader’s Cody Marshall placed 71st (97-94=191).
On the girl’s side Swift Current’s Lacey Duncan placed 26th (111-106=217), followed by teammate Ashley Sauder in 30th (104-124=228), and Ponteix’s Alyssa Fournier in 41st (128-120=248).
