MacLeod takes seventh provincial blind golf crown

LOWER MEAGHER'S GRANT, N.S. - Brian MacLeod is Nova Scotia's blind golfing champion again.
The 50-year-old Salmon River resident claimed his seventh provincial title recently at River Oaks Golf Club in Lower Meagher's Grant, firing 218 over 36 holes in the B1 Division (no sight).
MacLeod is also the reigning seven-time Canadian champion and president of the Nova Scotia Blind Golf Association.
Roy Bert, of Redcliff, Alta., successfully defended the B2 (five per cent sight) division title shooting 207, while George Thirkill, of Langley, B.C., shot 182 to claim the B3 division (10 per cent sight). Judy Ursulan shot 268 for the women's division title.
MacLeod also won the recent North American Match Play Championship in Ohio by a stroke over former world champ Phil Blackwell.
