Carter, Lowrey in the hunt at NSGA tourney

ANTIGONISH - Amherst's Gary Carter and Cliff Lowrey are near the top of the leaderboard after the first round of the Nova Scotia Golf Association senior men's (ages 55 and older) championship Wednesday at the Antigonish Golf and Country Club.
Carter shot a 76, putting him at 4-over par, while Lowrey posted a 79, which puts him at 7-over going into Thursday's second round. The leader after the first day is David (Ducky) Webber, who carded a 72.
The championship wraps up on Friday.
