LYTHAM ST. ANNES, England - Catriona Matthew has won the Women's British Open by three strokes after shooting a 1-over 73 in the final round.
The 39-year-old Scot held on to the overnight lead to win her first major just 10 weeks after giving birth to her second child. She finished with a 3-under total of 285.
Karrie Webb of Australia closed with a 4-under 68 to finish second on 288.
There was a four-way tie for third on 289 between Paula Creamer (71), Hee-Won Han (70), Ai Miyazato (73) and Christina Kim (74).
