AMHERST - For the 45th consecutive year, Little League baseball teams from Canada and the United States will gather in Amherst for the David Maltby Memorial tournament during the Labour Day weekend.
The Amherst Canadian Tire Little League All-Stars, will host teams from Marlboro, Midland and Blackstone, Mass., as well as Truro, Sydney, Lower Sackville and Kennetcook.
Amherst, Blackstone, Kennetcook and Sydney will play in the Roy Cormier Division, while the Don Chitty Division includes Marlboro, Midland, Lower Sackville and Truro.
Action begins Sept. 5, with Amherst meeting Blackstone on the Landry Field while Marlboro faces Midland on the Foster Field.
The consolation and championship games are Sept. 7.
Amherst and Marlboro enter the tournament as co-defending champions after heavy rains washed out the final day of play last year.
