SCCHS golf team produces strong results

The Swift Current Comprehensive High School golf team had a banner day at their fourth annual SCCHS Invitational Golf Tournament on Thursday winning both the boy's and girl's team titles as well as earning six top-three finishes in three individual categories.

The Swift Current Comprehensive High School golf team had a banner day at their fourth annual SCCHS Invitational Golf Tournament on Thursday winning both the boy's and girl's team titles as well as earning six top-three finishes in three individual categories.

Swift Current Tyler Weston topped the boy's grade 11/12 category followed by teammates Kory McMillan in second and Keagan Barker in third.

On the girl's side of the draw Herbert's Kaitlyn Jahnke placed ahead of a pair of Swift Current golfers. Kaityln Blackmer and Katie Avram both repeated their second and third-place finishes from last year respectively.

In the boy's grade 9/10 category Swift Current's Cody Schapansky finished second behind Preston Rindahl of Prince Albert Carlton.

In the boy's team event Swift Current teams finished first and third respectively. The foursome of Schapansky, John McConnell, Mickey Wallace, McMillan, and Tyson Faucher topped the event, followed by teammates Tyler Weston, Kyle Millar, Skylar LeBel, and Mark Johnston in a third-place tie with Prince Albert Carlton.

In the girl's team event the Ardens placed first with the trio of Blackmer, Avram, and Leah Teulon.
