Two Southwest high school golf teams captured provincial medals led by the Frontier Raiders who swung their way to a gold medal at the SHSAA sand golf championships in Frontier.

Two Southwest high school golf teams captured provincial medals led by the Frontier Raiders who swung their way to a gold medal at the SHSAA sand golf championships in Frontier.

The Raiders combined for a two-day total of 604 to easily get past second place Waldheim who took 641 strokes.

Teammates Hailey Coakley and Lindsey Anderson finished first and second in the girl's competition in 168 and 191 strokes respectively.

Frontier's Dustin Onerheim topped the boy's competition with a two-day total of 139, eight strokes ahead of Strasbourg's Jordan Hegglen.

Brady Berg of Frontier finished in sixth in 153 strokes. Kelby Colburn scored a 166, Drake Heggestad scored a 173, and Devin Casat checked in with 179 strokes.

The Swift Current Comp. golf team captured a silver medal at the grass green championships in Saskatoon with a two-day total of 587, eight strokes behind Saskatoon Aden Bowman.

Kaitlin Blackmer was the top individual finisher with a sixth place score of 172. Teammate Katie Avram also fired a 177 to place ninth.

Herbert's Kaitlyn Jahnke finished in a fourth place tie in 167 strokes.

On the boy's side Mickey Wallace finished seventh in 148 strokes.

Cody Schapansky and Kody McMillan both fired 151's and Tyler Weston finished in 159 strokes.
