Not even two consecutive days of steady rain could halt the 63rd annual Labour Day Classic at the Elmwood Golf Course over the weekend.

Despite the wet weather competitors from British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, and all over Saskatchewan joined together to battle the elements at the Labour Day Classic sponsored by Dave Carter.

112 competitors played 18 holes on Saturday morning to qualify for flighting after which they played match play from there on in.

Taylor Smith defeated Devon Deabold to capture first overall in the tournament.

The always well anticipated horse race was played Sunday afternoon in the cold and rain but the competitors showed great play and the final two of Thomas Allin and Keith Miyashiro both birdied the ninth and final hole to go to force a chip off where Allin managed to outduel Miyashiro for this year's title. Swift Current's Trevor Schmeiss finished in third spot.
