AMHERST - Could there be a better way for a daughter or son to spend a pleasant, sunny Sunday afternoon?
Approximately 25 pairings found that perfect opportunity during the Amherst Golf Club's Father's Day Classic.
In the end, the father and son team of Phil and Cale Burke won the junior and senior event with a gross score of 73 (handicap 7)
Second place went to Chuck Linney and Jordan Letcher with a gross score of 69 (handicap 14), while third place went to the team of Doug Polley and Ryan Oake with a gross score of 79 (handicap 8).
The best net score on the day went to Troy and Brandon Dowe with a 67 (handicap 23).
The second best net score went to Robert and Rebecca Beardsly with a 67 (handicap 25), while the third best net score went to Jim and Kevin Hathaway with a 70 (handicap 25).
The most honest honours went to Liz and Courtney Dowe over 18 holes while the most honest honours over 9 holes went to Ed and Rachell Chevarie.
The most eights went to Adrien and Jean-Luc Amirault with three over nine holes.
