AMHERST – 1, 2, 3, HUT!

Football players of all ages gathered at the Winston Street soccer field Friday night to kick off their third season with the Cumberland Minor Football, home of the Wolfpack, teams.

“Our numbers are up. The kids are enthusiastic and having a lot of fun,” said coach Travise Dowe. “The development of football in the county is going really well. We have kids all the way from Northport to Collingwood and this year, we even have one player who has come up from Sackville  (New Brunswick) and doing a fantastic job.”

Returning player Connor Voss is excited for the new football season.

“Coach Travise put a lot of time and effort into this and got the program up and running,” said Voss. “This is the third year and it’s just been a lot of fun.”

Minor football is open to boys and girls ages seven to 15. To ask any questions or register, email cumberlandminorfootball@hotmail.com or attend one of their practices at 42 Fairview Ave in Amherst on week days from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m.
