Pair of Duncan touchdowns lead Colts to victory

The Swift Current Colts, led by a pair of Tanner Duncan touchdowns, held on for a 23-20 win over the visiting Central Cyclones to move to 2-1 this season in the Moose Jaw High School Football League.

Duncan rumbled for 122 yards on 17 carries and pair of first half touchdowns as the Colts ran their way to a 22-6 first half lead.

The Cyclones fought back with a pair of second half majors but Joel Remple's second half touchdown proved to be the difference as the Colts held on for the win.

Colts quarterback Mike Nicholson finished three for 11 for 56 yards as Remple, Duncan, and Brody Patterson all made receptions.

The Colts offense totaled eight first downs and 191 total yards, including 135 along the ground.

Defensively the Colts allowed nine first downs and 292 total yards, including 244 yards of passing from a pair of Cyclones' quarterbacks.

Brendan Forbes, Connor Kleisinger, and Connor Ferguson scored touchdowns for the Cyclones as they dropped to 1-2 on the season.

Colts' kicker Conrad Flaterud rounded out the scoring with three converts and two singles, while averaging 34.5 yards on seven punts.
