Camp Shagabec is preparing for another summer of swimming, crafts, games, exploring nature and overall fun for kids.

Camp Shagabec, a United Church run camp in the Cypress Hills, has been offering summer camp opportunities for 71 years.

"Camp Shagabec is volunteer based and replies on donations to keep these registration fees low," says manager David Fletcher. "Our goal is to make sure that anyone can experience the joy of coming to camp. We also have a bursary program set up to assist families that are struggling financially."

Fletcher reminds parents that if they are interested in sending their children to camp, they should send the registration forms in early, as the camps fill up quickly as the summer approaches.

For more information about Camp Shagabec, or to donate to the bursary program, go to: www.shagabec.com. Camps are priced at $75 (three day camp) and $150 (for most six day camps).
