Individuals wishing to become involved as a coach, official, or as a board member is asked to attend.

Canes conquer road foes

The Swift Current K-Motel Hurricanes won both of their road games last week as they continue to keep pace with the top teams in the South Sask AA Midget Hockey League.

Thursday the Hurricanes got two goals from both Brennan Larson and Chad Schultz on their way to a 5-3 win over the host Moose Jaw Warriors. Tristan Houde netted a single goal, while Riley Dowdeswell picked up a pair of helpers.

Sunday the Hurricanes visited the Regina Flames and emerged with a 6-4 win led by a goal and two assists from Craig Fournier and a pair of goals from Reiley Grose. Nick Mackay added a goal and one assist, followed by a pair of helpers from Houde. Baydin Pastuk and Johnston added single goals. Myles Hovdebo earned the win with 23 saves.

Tonight the Hurricanes will host the 13th-place Moose Jaw Warriors at 8 p.m. at the Credit Union iplex followed by a weekend set in Lumsden.

Three members of the Hurricanes also represented Team South at the league All-Star Game in Caronport on Saturday. Forwards Brennan Larson and Reiley Grose, as well as defenseman Adam Fullerton suited up for Team South.

Both Larson and Grose contributed one goal and two assists in a 7-6 shootout win for Team South.
