Colts to play for 3rd

The Swift Current Comp. Colts football team will be playing for third place in the Rangeland Football Conference on Saturday after falling 37-0 to Brooks on Tuesday in the league semi-finals.

"We just need to focus on being ready mentally more then anything else," said Colts head coach Derek Murdoch of Saturday's upcoming game in Medicine Hat.

Last Thursday the visiting Colts won their first playoff game in 10 years with a 21-17 win over Medicine Hat Crescent Heights to advance to the semi-finals.

The Colts offense rushed for 71 yards and threw for 210 yards in the victory.

Quarterback Mike Kraemer connected with Tyler Byers and Mike Nicholson for touchdowns through the air.

Bryce Stan also scored a major on a third down fake punt from 45 yards out.

The Colts trailed late in the contest but their defense got the ball back with three minutes remaining in the contest and the offense marched down the field to score a touchdown with only 54 seconds for the win.
