Colts head coach Derek Murdoch said the Colts lacked intensity from the beginning.

"We didn't match their intensity. As soon as the ball was kicked off to start the game, you could sense that they were more ready to compete then we were. We've started flat there twice. The first time we were able to overcome it against Crescent Heights, but against a team like Medicine Hat High, you just can't come out flat."

The Colts will make their home debut Friday at 4 p.m. when they host the McCoy High School Colts.

"It's our home opener, so we're hoping for a good-sized crowd and hopefully we can feed off some of the energy. We have to come out fired up and ready to play from the opening kickoff. McCoy won the RFC last year, but lost a couple of their weapons. We know that they will be very quick and athletic, so we need to up our physicality. It's going to be exciting, as we're billing it as the 'Battle of the Colts'."
