CHARLOTTETOWN - With only a few clouds in the forecast, the Amherst Ramblers will storm onto Prince Edward Island tonight, hoping to take two points from the Charlottetown Abbies.
"We expect a hard hitting, hard fought game," said Ramblers coach Corey Crocker. "We're looking to get two points off the Island."
Crocker says his team will focus on keeping the shots against to a minimum.
"We have most of our success when we play good defense," Crocker said. "We'll keep working on our defence, while keeping our battle levels up."
Crocker said playing in Charlottetown has its advantages.
"It's a short trip. It only takes an hour and a half to get over there," said Crocker. "And the building is a new state-of-the-art building which is used by the university. It's a very energized building."
Amherst defeated the Abbies the last time the two teams met on Jan. 4, at Amherst Stadium.
Amherst won that meeting by a score of 4-1 after scoring three unanswered goals in the third period.
But the Abbies have made some changes to their roster since the two teams last met.
"They acquired some players at the deadline said Crocker referring to the Jan. 10, trading deadline.
"They have some young talent, they're well balanced and they have a great coaching staff. So it will be a hard fought game for sure."
