The Swift Current Indians scored five runs in the first inning on their way to a 6-4 win over the visiting Melville Millionaires.

The Indians avoided a losing streak with Saturday's home win to improve to 16-6 on the season.

Anthony Armanino struck out 10 over six innings to move to 2-0 on the season. Cody Chartrand earned the save with two scoreless innings in relief.

"I felt pretty good," said Armanino, who hails from San Carlos, California. "I got a lot of swing-and-misses with my change-up and any time I was behind in the count I would throw that over and seemed likew they couldn't really hit it too well."

The Indians will be back in action on Monday when they play a double header in Lethbridge with Chris Haddeland and Michael Noteware expected to make the starts.
