2013 Swift Current PeeWee Indians
Swift Current Minor Ball will host its annual AA baseball tournament this weekend with 27 teams from Alberta and Saskatchewan in Mosquito, PeeWee, Bantam, and Midget divisions taking part.
The tournament will begin Friday and conclude Sunday evening. It will feature teams from Swift Current, Saskatoon, Humboldt, Weyburn, Bethune, Regina, Kindersley, Lloydminster, Macklin, and North Battleford.
The Swift Current Mosquito Indians will host a five-team tournament. They will begin the round robin on Friday at 6:30 p.m. against the Regina D’Backs.
They will also face the Saskatoon Dirt Bags on Saturday at 11 a.m. and Weyburn at 4 p.m. Swift Current will conclude the round robin on Sunday at 9 a.m. against the Saskatoon Cardinals.
The top two teams in the round robin will play in the gold medal game at 2 p.m. All Mosquito games will be played at the diamonds on 19th Ave NE.
The Swift Current Mosquito Indians are currently third in the Regina Baseball AAA League with an 8-3 record.
The PeeWee Indians will take part in an eight-team tournament beginning with three round robin games at Ford Field. They will open their tournament against the Saskatoon AA Cardinals on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
The PeeWee Indians will also face Humboldt on Saturday at 11 a.m. and the Saskatoon A’s at 4 p.m.
The PeeWee semi-finals will be played Sunday at 9 a.m. with the championship final slated for 2 p.m. at Ford Field.
The PeeWee Indians are currently third in the Baseball Regina AAA League with a 4-3 record.
The Swift Current Bantam Indians will be one of eight teams in the Bantam Division. They will open their weekend on Friday at 6:30 p.m. against the Regina Pacers. The Bantam Tribe will face the Saskatoon A’s on Saturday at 11 a.m. and the North Battleford Beavers at 4 p.m.
The Bantam semi-finals will be played Sunday at 9 a.m. with the championship game scheduled for 2 p.m.
The Bantam Indians are currently 9-4-1 in second spot in the eight-team Baseball Regina AAA League.
The Swift Current Midget Indians will host five other teams in their home tournament. They will open the schedule on Friday at 4 p.m. against the Kindersley Royals. They will also face the Regina White Sox on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with an eye on Sunday’s semi-finals. The Midget championship game will take place on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
The Midget Indians are currently fourth in the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League with an 8-5 record this season.
