The Annual General Meeting of the Swift Current Indians Baseball Club took place Oct. 30 at the Modern Family Banquet Room. The AGM brought an end to another great year of Indians Baseball and the end of an era as the Board elected a new President for the 2013 season, Bruce Deg. Deg will replace Brad Woods who had sat in that position for the past five seasons. Woods steps aside after completing his second term as President.

“It has been my pleasure to be a part of this organization for the past six years, stated Woods in his final Report as President. “I am very proud of what we have accomplished over the past five years but I feel it is time to pass the torch on to a new leader. A fresh face with fresh ideas will inject new life and growth into our organization.”

Deg will take the reins as President having served on the Board for the past three years as a volunteer, Operating Committee member and most recently as Vice President Administration.

He will be joined on the Executive by; VP Administration – Joe Collinson, VP Marketing – Kathy Gibbs, VP Baseball – Harv Martinez and VP Operations – Mike Mutlow. Operating committee members include, Angela Schultz, Jennifer Garner, Kyle Ferguson and Jodie Hyswick. Erna King and Conrad Funk will remain in their current roles as Secretary and Treasurer.

There are still a number of seats on the Board that remain vacant. Anyone interested in joining the Swift Current Indians Baseball Club Board of Directors is encouraged to contact Bruce Deg at 741-1920 or Erna King at 778-1303.
