The Swift Current Indians scored another win courtesy of some late offense as they downed the host Lethbridge Bulls 8-6 Friday to open a four-game road trip.
The Indians scored three runs in the eighth and two more in the ninth to win their third straight game and eighth win in their past nine games.
Aaron Dunsmore led the offense as he finished three-for-four with a walk, three runs scored and a run batted in.
The Indians used four pitchers to get the win. Reliever Reilly Grose earned the win with a scoreless inning. Cody Chartrand picked up the save, allowing one earned run while getting the final four outs. Starter Garret Anderson kept the Tribe in the game, allowing seven hits and four earned runs over five innings.
The Tribe remain atop the Western Major Baseball League’s Central Division with a 17-14 record. Lethbridge dropped to 17-15, third in the West Division. The same two teams will meet again Saturday evening at Spitz Stadium in Lethbridge.
