PARRSBORO – It may be called Triassic Park, but Parrsboro’s local ball field is soon to have a more modern look.
The field, located on Upper Main Street near the RCMP station, is receiving $10,000 in upgrade work over the coming weeks, beginning with the installation of a new backstop that was started on Monday, May 30.
The work, which will also include new fencing from the backstop to the dugouts, fresh paint on the dugouts, a new sign by the road and field maintenance, comes thanks to a $5,000 grant from the Nova Scotia Health and Wellness Fund, as well as a commitment of up to $10,000 from town council.
